Betway's page says the brand is managed by Betway Limited (C39710), a Maltese company at 9 Empire Stadium Street, Gzira, GZR 1300, Malta. It says Betway Limited is licensed and regulated by the Malta Gaming Authority for Type 1 and Type 2 gaming services under licence MGA/CRP/130/2006, issued on 1 August 2018. We didn't check this against the MGA register, so treat it as Betway's own statement. The Canadian casino welcome offer
For new Canada customers using betway.com (outside Ontario), the casino offer was a 100% match up to C$1,000 plus 50 bonus spins, split as:
- 1st deposit of C$10 or more: 100% match up to C$500
- 2nd deposit of C$10 or more: up to C$250
- 3rd deposit of C$10 or more: up to C$250
You have to opt in, the free spins arrive after the first deposit, and the offer is valid for 7 days from registering your account.
Wagering: 50x
The offer page states 50x bonus wagering. That's higher than the 35x at the Baytree brands. A C$500 first-deposit bonus would need C$25,000 of bets before it's withdrawable. With a seven-day window as well, that's a lot of play in a short time. For most people, this offer is only worth taking if they'd be playing that much anyway, and few people are.
Sports and casino in one wallet
Betway's strength is its sportsbook, which covers major sports and eSports. The casino and live casino share one wallet with it. That's convenient, but it means casino losses and sports bets come out of the same balance, so track your total spending, not each product separately. Sports and casino welcome offers are separate. Read which one you're opting into.
Payments and withdrawals
Methods and processing times vary by country, and Betway doesn't publish a single payout time we could verify for Canada. Check the cashier and help pages for your province. As always, the first withdrawal is the one most likely to be held while identity, address and payment-method checks are done.

The page says you can set limits or exclude yourself, and links to a Responsible Gambling page. Betway's group sites in regulated markets like the UK and Ontario carry those markets' stronger mandatory tools.
Who it suits
Bettors who want a well-known sportsbook with a casino attached, and players in Ontario or Alberta who want a site with a provincial version. It's a poor fit for anyone tempted by the casino bonus: 50x within 7 days is one of the heavier requirements we've seen.
Verdict
Betway is a big, recognisable name with a clear corporate trail and good regional separation. Its sportsbook is the main attraction. The Canadian casino bonus is easy to understand but demanding to clear, so play without it unless you've done the maths.
The maths of 50x in 7 days
Betway's offer stands out for how quickly you'd have to clear it. Take a C$100 first deposit: you get a C$100 bonus, and at 50x that's C$5,000 in bets. The full C$500 first-deposit bonus needs C$25,000, and the whole C$1,000 package would need C$50,000, all inside 7 days of registering. Spread over a week, C$50,000 is more than C$7,000 of bets a day. For almost everyone the honest answer is that the casino bonus isn't worth claiming. Since it's opt-in, you can simply not opt in.
Sports first, casino second
Betway is best known as a sportsbook, and the site is built around that. The casino and live casino sit alongside sports and eSports, with separate promotions. If you mainly want to bet on sport, the casino welcome offer is irrelevant and you can ignore it. If you mainly want slots, one of the Baytree brands with 35x terms will usually need less play to clear.

We read the Canadian casino welcome-offer page and the footer licence statement from Canada on 12 October 2026.
