Welcome Bonus
A promotional offer for new players, typically matching some percentage of a first deposit up to a stated cap, subject to wagering requirements before any winnings can be withdrawn.
Why it matters
Welcome bonuses are the most heavily marketed offer type and also the one most often misunderstood — the headline number rarely reflects what a player can actually withdraw without meeting the attached conditions.
Examples
- A '100% up to $500' welcome bonus matches your deposit dollar-for-dollar, capped at $500 in bonus funds.
- The same bonus might carry a 35x wagering requirement, meaning the deposit-plus-bonus total must be wagered 35 times before withdrawal.
