KYC (Know Your Customer)
The identity-verification process licensed operators are legally required to run — checking your ID, address, and sometimes payment method — usually before a first withdrawal.
Why it matters
KYC is a regulatory requirement, not a sign something is wrong with your account. It exists to prevent underage play, fraud, and money laundering, and every licensed operator uses some version of it.
Examples
- A UKGC-licensed casino may ask for a photo ID and a recent utility bill before releasing your first withdrawal.
- Some operators run KYC checks automatically in the background using data-matching services, with no document upload needed unless a check fails.
