Glossary
RNG (Random Number Generator)
The algorithm inside a licensed casino game that produces each spin, card, or dice result independently and unpredictably, so no outcome can be predicted from previous ones.
Why it matters
The RNG is the mechanical basis of fairness in every digital casino game. Licensed operators are required to use RNGs that have been independently tested, which is what stops a game from being secretly weighted against players.
Examples
- A slot's RNG decides which symbols land on the reels the instant you press spin — the animation is just a visual delay.
- In online blackjack, the RNG determines card order before the deal, not after you make a decision like hit or stand.
