How in-play betting works
Prices are updated as game state changes. There can also be a delay between submitting an in-play bet and receiving confirmation, because the market may move or suspend during that interval.
What cash out does
A bookmaker may offer an amount to close an unsettled bet before the event finishes. The offer can rise, fall or disappear as the probability of the underlying selections changes.
Why an offer can vanish
Markets are frequently suspended around significant incidents. Multiples can be harder to cash out because several live markets may need to remain open simultaneously.
Partial cash out
Some bookmakers offer partial cash out, which settles part of the position while leaving the remainder live. Availability and calculation are operator-specific.
