Curaçao licence

A gambling licence issued in Curaçao, now by the Curaçao Gaming Authority (CGA). It's one of the most common licences for casinos that serve players in many countries.

How it used to work and what changed

For years, most Curaçao-licensed casinos operated under a few "master licences", with each operator holding a sub-licence from a master holder. Footers often named the master holder, for example "licensed by Antillephone N.V.", with a sub-licence number. That system was widely criticised because the master holders, not a public authority, did most of the supervision.

Curaçao has been reforming this since 2023. Under the National Ordinance on Games of Chance (LOK), operators apply directly to the Curaçao Gaming Authority for their own licence. New licence numbers look like OGL/2024/…, and the CGA publishes a verification page for each approved domain.

How to check one

  1. Find the operating company and licence number in the casino's footer.
  2. Open the CGA verification link or search the CGA's portal directly at cert.cga.cw.
  3. Check that the company name matches and the status is "Active".
  4. Check that the exact domain you're using is on the list. Many operators run numbered mirror domains, and each one should be listed.

Example: in October 2026, the CGA's page for licence OGL/2024/161/0191 showed Stable Tech N.V. as an active licence holder, with N1Bet, RollXO, SlotLords, SpiritCasino and Joocasino domains among those listed.

What it doesn't cover

A Curaçao licence lets an operator offer games from Curaçao. It doesn't make the casino licensed in your country. In places with their own systems, such as Great Britain, Ontario or Germany, a Curaçao licence isn't a substitute for the local licence. Player protections are also generally lighter than at regulators like the UK Gambling Commission. Fewer safer-gambling tools are mandatory, and there's less certainty about how complaints are handled.

What it means for you

A valid Curaçao licence is better than no licence, and the new system is more transparent than the old one. But read the withdrawal and bonus terms closely, keep your own records, and check that your country isn't on the casino's restricted list.
